WMU Prepares to Welcome Back College Students0
More than 35,000 college students will return to Kalamazoo in the next few days to start the fall semester. For a city of approximately 75,000, that's a lot of new people to connect with.
With that very idea of connection and community in mind, Western Michigan University will host its annual welcome back event for new and returning students next week.
Bronco Bash will return to the Sangren Pedestrian Mall on WMU's main Kalamazoo campus for its 34th year on Friday, Sept. 5, from 3 to 7 p.m. More than 450 booths will share information, market services, and recruit volunteers. Booths will include registered student organizations, campus departments, local businesses, and community organizations.
According to the event's website, "This celebration of the WMU and Kalamazoo communities is unlike any other event, don't miss your opportunity to attend, or get involved with this tradition!"
In addition to the university's 25,000 students, the public is also invited to attend. Admission is free.
Food concessions and activities including inflatable obstacle courses, laser tag, a dunk tank, and quad jumper trampolines will be offered in addition to entertainment. Kalamazoo-based, indie rockers The Class Acts will perform at 3:30 p.m. Singer Bryce Vine will take the stage at 4:45 p.m. with his blend of bi-coastal pop and hip-hop fushion. At 6 p.m. DJ Ill Mixx will perform.
We hope to see you there!
